After Dead Can Dance had to postpone their German tour, originally planned for spring 2021, the band finally returns to our stages with their "Europe - 2022" tour. Dead Can Dance, that's Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, two passionate musicians who formed an extraordinary duo in the pubs of Melbourne in the early 80s. Influenced by the cultural diversity around them, Brendan and Lisa - both of whom have Anglo-Irish roots - independently developed a style all their own during their numerous pub gigs. The two have been making music together since the early 80s and have been finding enthusiastic fans as an artist collective for three decades now.
Their particular style of music combines many musical genres. The influences of world music, medieval music, neo-classical and rock can be clearly heard. The duo creates spherical sounds, elfin and dreamy, as if from another world. Instrumentally, Dead Can Dance are also diversely positioned: In addition to African percussion instruments, Australian didgeridoos, Asian string instruments as well as conventional guitars are used.
With their ever-growing wealth of facets, Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard provide a unique listening experience on stage. In April 2022, we may finally welcome the two exceptional talents back with us in Germany, when they will look back live on their musical career and perform songs from three decades - including popular classics from the works "The Serpent's Egg", "Aion" and "Into The Labyrinth" and many more.
