How do you explain to your students when suddenly someone is missing in class? Someone was put on a plane from one day to the next and deported?
Elvira and her family happened, even though they belong to the persecuted Roma minority, even though their father is ill, even though Elvira and her brother grew up in Germany. In Kosovo, where they now live, they don't even understand the language. In Germany, Elvira's teacher, her boyfriend and his family are looking for answers. Why didn't anyone do anything to prevent the deportation?
The case worker at the immigration office, the doctor who accompanies the flights: They all just soberly state the ordinariness of the inconceivable.
The play by Björn Bicker, which won the German Youth Theatre Prize in 2012, is enlightening in the best sense without being moralizing or accusatory.
