This is well deserved for Dermot Kennedy: After he has gone through every step from the bottom up, after all the gigs in the clubs and dives, after all the tours, after the acclaimed concerts in Germany, which were sold out through the bank, it is now time for the big halls. Since the Irishman appeared on the musical scene, he managed to become a minor star in record time. No wonder. His expressive voice, paired with that exuberantly creative sound of electronic elements and poppy parts, fits naturally into the structure of the singer/songwriter's handmade, rustic and soulful tracks. It is exactly this connection and diversity that captivates the listener. Rarely do you hear such an intense and pleading voice scream to the heavens as it does on the single "Glory" that gave him his breakthrough two years ago. This soulful organ is his trademark, a bit reminiscent of Jack Garratt, James Vincent McMorrow or Bon Iver in style, when he stands on stage together with his band and sings his songs, full of devotion and fervor. No wonder his fans are at his feet, because Kennedy always gives everything his soul gives. Since the EP "Doves & Ravens" and even more since the self-titled debut album he belongs to the greats of his profession. In February "Lost", a new song from his pen, was released, in summer he made us happy with some festival appearances - among others at A Summer's Tale in Luhmühlen - and in November the 27-year-old comes to us again to finally prove his talent and musicality in front of the very big audience and to achieve a new goosebump record with his voice. As we said, Dermot Kennedy deserves this.
