For the second time, the MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main is showing the works of the finalists of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize. This year's selection recognizes not only established photographic narratives, but also experimental and conceptual approaches in documentary, landscape and portrait photography. All four finalists' work addresses questions such as those of truth and fiction, what is certain or uncertain, what distinguishes the real from the ideal, and the relationship between observing and being observed. The finalists' works will first be on view at Photographers' Gallery in London from March 3 to June 11, 2017, and then at MMK 3 of the MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt. Finalists include: Sophie Calle, Dana Lixenberg, Awoiska van der Molen and the artist duo Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs. The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize is awarded annually to a contemporary photographic artist of any nationality who has made a significant contribution to photography in Europe in the form of an exhibition or publication in the previous year. As one of the most prestigious prizes in the field of photography, it draws attention to groundbreaking trends in contemporary photography and showcases works by artists who are shaping the current international photography scene. The winner of this year's prize is Dana Lixenberg. Source and further information: http://mmk-frankfurt.de/en/nc/exhibitions/exhibition-details/article/deutsche_boerse_photography_prize/
