When is a man a man? To this question Diane for a day finds rather funny and abysmal answers. With beard, waistcoat and tie, eight women break down hilarious stereotypes of masculinity on stage: the marketing guy, the pop singer, the dramaturge, the student. Everyone gets their money's worth in this musical riot, under which it pulses painfully.
The first joint project by performers from Theater Thikwa and the artist collective hannsjana humorously and musically questions body norms and gender roles in and outside inclusive spaces. Inspired by the drag-king workshops of artist Diane Torr, Diane for a day explores and tests new ways of dealing with physicality on stage. The theatricality of one's own and others' privilege also becomes a starting point for jokes, anger and (self-)empowerment. A play with gender identities that regularly ensures sold-out performances in Berlin.
