Disarstar distinguishes himself as a rapper who combines the rugged directness of street and battle rap with pointed socio-political observations in his lyrics. He deliberately avoids status and macho posturing and diss tracks of the usual kind - and thus sets himself refreshingly apart from the content currently dominating the German rap landscape.
With both "Kontraste" (2015) and "Minus x Minus = Plus" (2017), his two albums released to date, DISARSTAR cracked the Top 20 of the German album charts.
The current single "Alice in Wonderland", released on September 28, the first harbinger of the new album "Bohemien" (scheduled release: February 2019), is incidentally a good example of what it can mean to take a stand on current issues with the means of hip hop.
