During the Kreisbauernmarkt, fresh local produce takes center stage around Groß-Gerau's Sandböhlplatz. At more than 30 stands, producers emphatically demonstrate that they can also make attractive and tasty offers outside the asparagus season:
From fruit and vegetables to fresh herbs and flowers, home-made sausage and honey to specialities such as smoked fish, various liqueurs, goat cheese and home-brewed beer.
As you would expect at a farmers' market, you can not only shop there, but also sample the delicacies on offer on the spot.
And varied musical entertainment is provided just as much as a colourful children's programme. Lots of good reasons, then, to plan a visit to the farmers' market in the county seat, especially since the downtown shops are also open.
