In Colombia Doctor Krapula are something like the Toten Hosen in Germany (no offense). Not only the sensational 800.000 likes on Facebook speak for themselves, the band has also played in front of 280.000 fans in their home country - ¡Puta madre! Such a success with this kind of music is probably only possible in Latin or South America, yet overseas, in this country, a steadily growing following is forming. And rightly so: Doctor Krapula are in the good tradition of bands like Panteon Rococo, Karamelo Santo or Mad Caddies. Add to that football choirs à la Los Calzones - and the Mestizo mix with Hammond organ is ready. There's not a dry eye in the house. They have just been nominated for two Latin Grammys with their new album.
The "AMA-ZONAS" album with illustrious guests like Manu Chao and Che Sudaka is more than music, namely a glowing statement against grievances and the unabated deforestation of the rainforest.
