The Dr. Berthold Roland Photo Art Prize is awarded this time to two young photographers with a connection to Rhineland-Palatinate: Kristina Lenz and Florian Glaubitz.
Kristina Lenz from Mainz studies photography at the University of Applied Sciences Dortmund. In her rapturous black and white photographs she tries to capture the moods and memories of extraordinary journeys and experiences with her friends and traces an unfathomable longing.
Florian Glaubitz from Burg studies as a master student at the Kunsthochschule Mainz. He too is preoccupied with the theme of being on the road, on his journey through life. His works are a mixture of different genres and excerpts, which are not purely associative strung together. It is only on closer inspection that one begins to want to give them meaning.
