Founded in 2008 by Patrick Lange (ex-Corvus Corax/Tanzwut/Schelmish).In 2011 Ost+Front became accessible to a wider audience at the M'era Luna festival, which they played without a previous release. On August 10, 2012, the debut album Ave Maria was released. The album was preceded by the music video Ich liebe es (I love it), which not only met with critical reactions in the trade press, but was also denied "18+" clearance by the FSK due to explicit sexual depictions. Despite this restriction, the album entered the Media Control album charts at number 68 for one week on 28 August. At the end of 2012, the album release was followed by a handful of concerts in clubs in various German cities.In March 2013, two foreign concerts were played for the first time in St.Petersburg and Moscow. From April to August of the same year, they performed at several festivals, such as Blackfield Festival and M'era Luna Festival. On January 24, 2014, they released their second album Olympia, which entered the Media Control album chart at number 25. The scene magazines Tombstone and Mindbreed came to a more differentiated conclusion and praised the profound lyrics and attention to detail. Ost+Front had developed musically compared to their debut and delivered a "brute (s) total package for friends of black humor".
