On the weekend of 23 and 24. July invites the Frankfurt port operator, the HFM Managementgesellschaft für Hafen und Markt, under the patronage of City Councilwoman Stephanie Wüst, after a break of four years again to the great harbor and music festival.
Then it is again: Ahoy and cast off for a diverse program on land and in the harbor basin: During the day, the Osthafen Festival offers plenty of harbor attractions, such as free harbor tours, ship tours, kids areas and a large sandy beach, while in the evening there will be a party in an atmospheric harbor atmosphere. From club sound to shanty choir - almost all styles of music will be presented on three live stages and in several disco areas.
Top act this year is Matt Simons, the U.S. singer-songwriter who has earned a growing fan base with four albums and many strong songs. He also became known in Germany in 2015 with a remix of "Catch & Release." This was followed by other hits such as "Open Up" and "We Can Do Better" from the album "After the Landslide." Some program highlights on water and on land are also already fixed: On the approximately one-kilometer-long event area on the north basin of the Osthafen 1 attract harbor tours, ship tours and water sports. On Saturday evening, July 23, Frankfurt's small and large boats will present themselves at the ship parade in the harbor basin. Among other things, young harbor guests can let off steam in two Kids Areas with play modules or take a ride with the harbor pirates to explore the waters. The German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and the German Lifesaving Society (DLRG) will jointly demonstrate a rescue operation. The Historische Eisenbahn Frankfurt (Frankfurt Historical Railway) will also be on board again and, together with HFM's harbor railroad, will set up a shuttle service between the Eisernem Steg and Osthafen 1 on both days.
