As always, two weeks before Easter, the traditional 37th Bad Arolsen Easter Market will take place on 21 and 22 March 2026 in the spring-decorated community centre.
This market has been very popular for many years.
Over 40 exhibitors are expected to attend.
Many treasures of egg painting art will be on display. The old design techniques have been cultivated for generations and passed on to the next generation of artists.
Eggs are decorated using the following techniques: scratch technique, natural flowers, reserve technique, Upper Hessian wax batik, wax batik, Romanian eggs, gold, millefleurs and ink eggs, oil painting, marbled eggs and acrylic and watercolour paints (animals, flowers, birds, fantasy motifs).
Natural eggs ranging from parakeet to ostrich eggs are also on offer.
The glassblower from Lauscha in Thuringia will once again demonstrate to fascinated visitors how his colourful transparent works of art are created.
Many of the exhibitors demonstrate on site how the small works of art are created.
In addition, works made of wood, clay, paper, sewn items made of various fabrics, mohair, soaps, jewellery made of glass beads, wood and amber, fresh flower arrangements made of natural materials, figures made of horseshoe nails and pliers, and jams, vinegars, liqueurs and Sauerland mustard will be on offer.
New exhibitors will be presenting high-quality hand-painted porcelain, felt animals, painted glass eggs with flowers, animals and sacred motifs, egg carvings, milling techniques with ornaments and lettering, as well as Tiffany works and works made from Nespresso capsules.
The cafeteria will be run by TuS Bad Arolsen this year.
The Easter market is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
The floral decorations will be offered at cost price on Sunday from 3.30 p.m.
This year, the proceeds from the market will go to the Helsen Fire Brigade's work with children and young people.
