It is the flagship of the VVV. Since 1974 it has been celebrated in uninterrupted succession on the last weekend in June and has created a large, enthusiastic audience far beyond Langen's borders. The focal point is the Vierröhrenbrunnen (four-tube fountain), from which only "Ebbelwoi" flows on the four festival days and which has developed over the years into a popular meeting place and communication centre for young and old. The generous supporting programme, such as the fireworks, the singing of the Langen choirs, Ebbelwoidaaf, Ebbelwoistaffel, Frühschoppen, a modern amusement park and, last but not least, the picturesque, hospitable old town with romantic hedge inns and the churchyard, never fail to captivate visitors. Also the Bachgassenmarkt, Saturday and Sunday afternoons has now become a permanent fixture of this unique folk festival.
