What home used to be and means today Journalist Luzia Braun and author Eberhard Rathgeb reflect on home together. He said of his Spurenbuch: "I wanted to know what happened to someone who grows up here and claims that his homeland lies in Germany, what he feels about it and what he understands by it, and how it is that he also feels at home in German art, literature and philosophy." In any case, home is a complicated feeling. Following the thread of his father's life story, Rathgeb tells of experiences that begin with the day one comes into the world. They are individual and yet are echoed in the biographies of famous artists and thinkers. Or in those of nameless refugees who one day turn up in the neighbouring village. But echoes are also given by Hegel, Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Adorno, Arendt, Dürer, Heine and a wolf boy. A book published by Blessing Verlag and an event of the EUROPA CULTURAL DAYS of the ECB - Germany 2016 in cooperation with the Deutsche Bundesbank.
