Back in the legendary London fog: After hundreds of performances of "The Hesselbach Family" and close acquaintance with the hot Frankfurt pavement of the late fifties, the ensemble Stalburg Theater returns to an old insight: The hard-hitting reality of life is not only to be found in the smart living room of the Hesselbachs or the drastic end of "Mädchen Rosemarie", but also where a human life is not worth a penny, where a violent crime is as common as a hand cheese in this country, where unsuspecting fellow human beings are not maltreated with penetrating babble - but with harpoons, pistols and poison capsules.
The ensemble makes spooky again, the ensemble plays Edgar Wallace, the ensemble returns to "The Inn on the Thames." Once again, the Stalburg Theatre becomes the infamous harbor tavern "Mecca," where Scotland Yard Inspector Wade relentlessly searches for a mysterious diamond robber who doesn't tend to kill his victims in the genteel English way, but murders them in the back with a harpoon and then escapes through London's canal network as the Frogman. Of course, Mecca's landlady Mrs. Oaks, her niece Leila, and Gregor Gubanov, a Russian spice merchant who happens to be present, have no clue as to who the culprit might be. But then Inspector Wade encounters a sports rower on the Thames who even claims to have seen the harpoon killer in person.
