With androgynous vocal color, strobing beats, and courage to make grand gestures, Ekaruz's songs fuse the passion of DIY hobbyists and the skill of music lovers.
Just in their early twenties, Nicolas and Marius have known each other half their lives. They attended school together in the Odenwald and university in Frankfurt, but even during that time they were both drawn again and again to creative enclaves, to gems where feathers and wax were stitched together into a long-cherished dream. They gathered inspiration on trips to London and Kuwait. Their songs were written in Leipzig and Dresden, in Bergen, Frankfurt and Michelstadt. With Odd Martin (Sigrid, Aurora), they produced the single "Wild Horses," a freewheeling ode to daring.
Two friends from the days when freedom was a school bell-ringer have built each other wings. Their tunes: solar-powered. Their sound: like inhaling before the heartbeat moment, re-entering the earth's atmosphere, apnoea dive, xenon sea - the first step on stage. Risk is part of it, but better crashed twice than not flown once.
