This irreverent puppet show is literally: An animal pleasure. The main character is Erwin the pig, though very soon other performers take over. Erwin lives with his girlfriend Margarethe on a farm, but he becomes increasingly aware of the boredom of his life. He makes the decision to explore new, wild and exciting avenues.
Through the tip of a really slimy worm, he learns of the world of rats deep underground, where life is said to pulsate with promise. But unfortunately, as is so often the case, things turn out differently than one thinks, for the rats are a tough bunch and they know neither morals nor decency.
Whether naive Erwin has had "pig after all in the end remains to be seen.
