This year the Gallus Theater participates for the first time directly in the KUNSTvoll - program of the Kulturfonds Rhein-Main. Cultural partner is the Rudolf Koch School Offenbach.
With 12 senior students of the Theater AG and two teachers of this school, theater, media and dance educators Michael Gonszar, Urs Bauer and Tonja van Helden have been conducting a film and theater practical research project since November 2016. The main topics are: Violence, media, as well as dealing with offenders with a migration background. The real background of the project is the death of Tugçe Albayrak in Offenbach in 2014, the criminal trial against Sanel M. and his deportation to Serbia in April 2017. Sanel M. himself was a student at the Rudolf Koch School for two years.
Exemplary, the Albayrak case can be used to study the longing of civil society for orientation in a world increasingly confused by the media, for peacefulness in dealing with one another, for civil courage, respect and equal rights for women, and transcultural dialogue.
Titled "Escalation Risk", a collage of films, theater scenes and dance has been created and can be seen on 5/27 and again on 6/1/17, both at 8pm.
