Pianist, composer and producer Di Gioia once came to Munich from Milan, played with jazz greats such as Art Farmer and Joe Lovano, was a permanent member of Klaus Doldingers Passport for 18 years and worked as a producer and musician with jazz and pop greats such as Till Brönner, Die Fantastischen Vier, Udo Lindenberg and Max Herre.
His latest project also involves renowned drummer Adam Nussbaum, but unfortunately he can't make it to the festival for important reasons. Instead, Di Gioia plays here with a band formed especially for the occasion. This includes the busy saxophone great Tony Lakatos, bassist Christian von Kaphengst (Randy Brecker, Roy Hargrove, Til Brönner and others) and drummer Jean Paul Hochstädter.
