For 200 years Senckenberg has been exploring nature in all its diversity so that we can understand it and use it sustainably. On Sunday, 19.11., everything revolves around the theme "Fascination of Diversity" at the big family day celebrating the anniversary at the Senckenberg Nature Museum. How many neck vertebrae does a giraffe have? What all lives in our soils? Why are forests the guardians of hidden treasures? And what do anaconda, capybara and trex have in common? Answers to these and many more questions can be found at the Family Day at the Senckenberg Naturmuseum
on Sunday, 19.11.2017
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Big and small can discover and experience first-hand the "Fascination of Diversity" at this highlight in the Senckenberg anniversary year. Spread over three floors throughout the Nature Museum, research stations invite visitors to explore soil and vertebrate animals, understand the cycle of rocks, get to know the Senckenberg bees and take part in the researcher quiz. Various handicraft and painting stands as well as a colourful market place in the Hall of Whales and Elephants complete the offer. Food and drink will also be provided. And Senckenberg has come up with something even more special to mark its 200th birthday: each visitor to the Family Day will be able to decide for themselves how much to pay for admission! Registration for the family day is not necessary
