The Stalburg Theater ensemble takes a third crack at the bourgeois tragicomedies of the Hesselbach family. In a habit cultivated over many years, two more plays, originally written as radio plays, by the brilliant Wolf Schmidt come to the stage.
The first one-act play of the double program offers a novelty: the Hesselbach family outside in nature! You see, they've gotten themselves a garden! And who knows the family only a little, suspects fast that the initial jubilation about it will not last long. Already within the family, conflicts about the work in the green can no longer be suppressed. But that is nothing compared to the threat posed by the garden neighbour Mr Krekeler. The title "The Right of Way" suggests the direction in which the disputes will go. Mum once again thinks she's done the smart thing, Babba once again talks his head off, Annelies is afraid, and Willi almost becomes violent. But it's no use, this time they all have to accept a bitter defeat. That's what happens when you leave the four walls of your home...
In the second play of the evening, the titular "heating pad" causes hectic deceptions and the most embarrassing situations as it wanders through the hands and sockets of many neighbours plagued by back pain and other ailments. Mrs. Bickelberg is again in top form after the trial of a certain dirty fringe, this time even seconded by her husband. Ah, one should just never lend anything!!!
