The time has finally come: the popular "Family on Ice" family day will officially herald the re-start of public ice skating at the Eissporthalle on Saturday, November 13. This will open the 2021 main season and open the 400-meter outdoor ring to the public.
City Councilor Mike Josef will welcome guests to the ice sports hall at 3:30 p.m. directly after the first public practice of the Löwen Frankfurt professional ice hockey team. From 3.45 p.m. the artistic skating community will then present itself and at 4.15 p.m. the skating school of the Löwen will start - an ice hockey training for children from four to six years. Public skating guests can skate on the 400-metre ring, the covered outdoor ice rink and in the small rink, or watch practices in the large rink.
Due to hygiene regulations, admission for public skating is limited, with 75 people admitted in 15-minute blocks starting at 2pm. A maximum of 600 visitors will be admitted for the runtime until 6 p.m. Admission requirements are the 3-G rule, according to current regulations for covered sports venues, and an OP mask or FFP2 protective mask must be worn in interior public areas.
Currently, admission to the rink is limited due to pandemic conditions and is only available with digital pre-registration. Run times on Saturday, Nov. 13, are 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free, but only with pre-registration via Frankfurt Ticket Rhein Main possible.
