No superlative is too big for this band. Fanfare Ciocarlia are living legends of Balkan brass.... One of, if not the most important brass bands in the world and live simply a blast without equal. For their "Onward to Mars!" tour, however, they are staying on their home planet for the time being, contrary to what the name suggests. Whereby: You can't be that sure. The horns are wriggling, the beat is stomping, the audience is escalating in the most beautiful way. Fanfare Ciocarlia concerts are definitely an experience of the most extraterrestrial kind. Since their discovery in 1997, the audience is getting bigger and bigger: punks, headbangers, jazz lovers or world music devotees-Fanfare unites them all. And so it wouldn't surprise us in the least if a UFO should suddenly land in the middle of the stage at their concert. The sky is the limit and all that! We are really looking forward to it! Fanfare Ciocarlia is considered to be one of the best live bands worldwide, thrilling their fans from Melbourne to Memphis, from Tokyo to Toulouse with inexhaustible energy and ingenuity. The 12 musicians blow up a storm from the stage and have been sending audiences into ecstasy for over 20 years at more than 2500 concerts. And yet, for the dozen musicians who have imbibed their craft with their mother's milk, every performance remains a new challenge. The band's aim is not simply to entertain, but to evoke the soul of Romanian gypsy music. As soon as Fanfare Ciocărlia - the brass band from the remote Romanian village of Zece Prăjini - puffs its cheeks, the rhythms of the Roma drive the audience into its legs.
