Fatcat are a stunning live band, playing exclusively their refined original compositions. Here the melodic richness of Michael Jackson meets the raucous funk of James Brown, and the disco grooves of Earth Wind & Fire meets the powerful virtuosity of Tower of Power. Not even jazz, ska or hard rock are foreign to the eight studied funkateers. The ZDF Morgenmagazin describes the music of Fatcat: "Fat beats, cutting horns and a stirring soul voice". With their impressive power, the eight have already given over 300 concerts, including at the Jazz Open Stuttgart, at the Fusion Festival and in Bellevue Palace in front of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. As a support band, Fatcat have already warmed up the audiences of Chaka Khan and Jamie Cullum. At the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival they played an open air headliner show. Singer Kenny: "An indescribable experience. We were the last band to play at sunset overlooking Lake Geneva, where so many of our idols have stood". The acclaimed concert has now also been recorded on LP: "Live at Montreux" joins the first studio album "Champagne Rush". The debut album from 2016 already showed the whole diversity of the band between disco-funk, soul, rock and jazz. A new EP will be released in 2019. FATCAT are a band whose concentrated energy unfolds especially live - thanks to the joy of playing of seven obsessive instrumentalists and the charisma of singer Kenny Joyner. "Kenny must have fallen into the Funk&Soul cauldron as a kid - several times over," says guitarist Jakob Monninger. Perhaps the secret of the guys' success is more than a magic potion, though. Because anyone who has ever seen a FATCAT concert suspects: these eight have always had the funk in their blood.
