FAUN have been an important part of the international medieval scene for more than ten years and have opened their own gateway to the emotional and mental worlds of that time with their music. The six musicians Oliver s. Tyr, Fiona Frewert, Niel Mitra, Stephan Groth, Rüdiger Maul and Katja Moslehner occupy their own musical field in the medieval scene with their Pagan Folk. The band combines romantic and mythical medieval music quotations with musical influences of the present to modern German-language medieval folk. With the major debut "Von den Elben", the band achieved their final breakthrough in 2012. The record has since been certified platinum. The follow-up "Luna" has also gone gold and, as a mystical concept album, has achieved a special status in the medieval folk scene. FAUN's numerous sold-out live concerts, among others, testify to this. The upcoming tour "Midgard" illuminates the mythology of the Vikings and Celts. FAUN have written sun and midsummer dances for it, sing the praises of the Celtic god Lugh, carry off into enchanting birch groves, tell of Alswinn the sky horse and even of Odin, the father of the gods. In contrast to FAUN's festival shows, the MIDGARD TOUR offers a complete stage spectacle. From delicate harp sounds to lilting dances, with selected guests on stage, a specially developed stage design and an enchanting light show, the audience is invited here on a magical journey into the world of ancient times and myths.
This is all framed by the band's unique soundscape, which as usual is created from a skilful mixture of folk, medieval sounds, pop and experimental electronic sound columns. An exciting mixture that has always made FAUN's music so unique in the medieval scene and enchants the audience in their concerts.
