A showcase of literary adaptations of the myth of the learned Doctor Faust and his pact with the devil:
Hell is in full swing - there is no one less to seduce than the highly learned Doctor Faust. No occasion seems more fitting for this than the production of The Finished Faust, given in the local madhouse.
In it, the young Faust, thirsty for knowledge, meets his adversary Don Juan, and it is precisely the latter's beloved whom the devil chooses as Faust's future bride. But for the illustrious audience, the competition for the young lady is not enough. They demand higher goals from Faust - other motives for his devilish pact than jealousy, imperiousness and excess, in short: more ideal!
The devils willingly accept the challenge. They are convinced: no matter what Faust's goals, his path will always lead down to Hell.
So seven times the world-famous Doctor commits himself to evil - seven times he makes a pact with the Devil, in seven different variations, for seven different motives. And each time the Devil succeeds in plunging Faust into eternal damnation. For whoever delves too deeply into the depths of truth must be doomed by his thirst for knowledge. - Or is it not? The devils have not reckoned with one authority: The final voice comes from above!
