"We write, we read, we fight. We stand with the forsaken! "

"The fight goes on!" Feridun Zaimoglu likes to shout at you as he's about to storm off through a revolving door or take the stairs. And his new book seals it. Zaimoglu is the lightest-footed weightlifter since lumbago. "The Story of Woman" (KiWi) is a literary act of courage, unbending, a chant and a feminist manifesto: the unapologetic acknowledgement of the need for a new narrative of humanity - from a woman's point of view. The author allows ten extraordinary women to have their say from the Age of Heroes to the present day. They are people whose view of things has not been handed down. Because men commanded, erased the truth and condensed the lie into legend. It was reserved for these women to remain silently invisible or to stand decoratively in the picture. But in Zaimoglu's work, they speak - unmistakably and loudly, like a fired bullet. No peace offering. No flattery. Tabula rasa! The evening will be moderated by literary critic Barbara Wahlster.
