For the eighth time, the Festival of Comedy will take place from 26 to 28 August 2016 - outside and for free! As part of the Museumsuferfest, the Caricatura Museum presents three days of the most exquisite satirical stage art on the Weckmarkt.
The festival sees itself as a complement to the exhibitions shown at the Caricatura Museum, as Bernd Gieseking, the festival's moderator, already wrote in his text on the occasion of the museum's 5th anniversary: "The Caricatura Museum's view and self-image that there is a unifying `comic´ spirit, a not dissimilar view of the absurdities of the world, of the present and everyday life, a similar, anarchic basic attitude of those in the satirical field, and that these connections, touches, overlaps must also be made visible, (.) ultimately led to the idea of developing the Festival of Comedy. Thus came the decision not only to open the house here every year on the occasion of the Museumsuferfest Frankfurt, and on this day, due to the event, for a not necessarily purposeful, but experience-hungry, äppelwoi-seelige crowd of visitors, but to temporarily expand the house with other art forms with an exclusive `Hörfest'."
This year, the Caricatura Museum Frankfurt welcomes to the stage Oliver Maria Schmitt, Sedlmeier, Ahne, Frank Goosen, Leo Fischer, Michael Ziegelwagner, Pit Knorr, Bernd Eilert, Hans Zippert, Kirsten Fuchs, Ella Carina Werner, Mark-Stefan Tietze, Moritz Hürtgen, Tim Wolff, Hauck <.x>Ampersand Bauer and Gymmick.
