2GETHER emerges: "There is no pattern F"
"2GETHER we are one!" is a motto that could hardly describe the upcoming Feuerwerk der Turnkunst production more aptly. This sentence unites the countless qualities and aspects that have to be put together to form a big picture in the coming months until the premiere of the 2GETHER tour 2017 on December 28, 2016.
As diverse as the ensemble members are with their performances, as versatile and at the same time with tremendous unity Europe's most successful gymnastics show will inspire over 220,000 spectators in the end. This time, however, not only with breathtaking gymnastic performances, but above all with a unique harmony - and filled to the brim with trust and love.
For one or the other, it may sound philosophical when, in connection with the Fireworks of Gymnastics, attributes such as love and trust are also spoken of. One thing is certain - and this is anything but philosophical, but rather a fact: It is the perfection of the performances, as for example the Japanese group Blue Tokyo brings into the arena with absolute synchronicity, that inspires the audience. Such perfect interplay is only possible if the individual group members know each other inside out, have not only automated their own individual choreography, but can also anticipate the movement sequences of the other group members. Only in this way can the individual members merge with each other in movement, only in this way can they create a common image that has its very own effect on the audience.
Love and trust are also required in the performance of Evelyn and Shannon from Canada, who present a trusting togetherness on a double trapeze. Their virtuoso performance at dizzying heights is a combination of strength, balance, courage and vertigo and impressively demonstrates how existentially important cohesion and blind mutual trust are. Or Vanina & Foucauld from Argentina and France, who together on the Flying Pole tell a love story that will ultimately resonate with the entire show. Likewise, Troupe Abissinia from Ethiopia, whose "Icarian Games" as well as their award-winning "Banquina Act" depend on one hundred percent mutual reliability. They and numerous others embody the show theme 2GETHER perfectly, because the world-class performances of all actors, who all have their very special story to tell, only works in the perfect interaction of all participants on and partly also behind the stage. It is these expressive individual images that are needed to turn the fireworks of gymnastics into a gymnastically complete work of art in months of intensive work with director Heidi Aguilar. And even that may sound philosophical, saying that the meaning and message of each individual image can change by merging with the other 2GETHER groups to create a masterpiece.
Isn't this metamorphosis exactly what is so exciting about the Feuerwerk der Turnkunst? It is indeed a true work of art again this year, which gradually takes shape there in collaboration with the many www.feuerwerkderturnkunst.de ensemble members, the music and the light. But what does this work of art show in the end? Is the puzzle that is being created a large map of the world in the end? After all, the groups represent four of the five continents. Asia, Africa, America and Europe are represented. Accordingly, they all bring their own cultural sphere with them as a separate and highly different picture and are put together to form a large world map. However, this will only succeed if everyone - in keeping with the cover picture - pulls together and, despite all the individual changes, does not lose sight of the common goal. And yet the question remains as to how, despite the large spatial separation of the ensemble members in the run-up to the tour, it will ultimately be possible to once again create a show from these many individual parts that will completely inspire. But that remains a "trade secret" of the fireworks makers for the time being!
