OPUS: Action and grace at eye level
Dearheartedly they fly through the air, perform breathtaking multiple somersaults at dizzying heights. The gymnasts, acrobats and artists of the "Feuerwerk der Turnkunst" seem to know no fear. With their incomparably spectacular stunts and flying acts, they hit the nerve of the audience. Applause and storms of enthusiasm are not infrequently the reward for the daring of the ensemble members. The core of the OPUS tour 2020 is about vintage and retro, but breathtaking flying acts are by no means a contradiction.
The high bar acrobatics of the group Extreme Fly are packed with countless moments of surprise. The four gymnasts deliver an energetic aerial show on the triple bar that is second to none. It is a performance of the master class, which demands courage and a willingness to take risks as well as perfect body control and exact timing. The daring of the young Ukrainians is one of the many highlights of a spectacular show concept.
Because even if the fireworks of gymnastics also embodies quiet and thoughtful moments again and again, it is especially the performances full of action that carry the audience along most emotionally. "And action-packed numbers we have this time in abundance dabei", emphasizes production manager Wolfram Wehr-Reinhold. So the spectators who have managed to get a seat in the upper tiers of the large event arenas will find themselves virtually at eye level with the flying artists. An experience of the special kind! Especially when the gymnasts, like the Mongolian Nomads with their skidding board performance, use the apparatus to catapult themselves up to a height of twelve metres and build a column of people up there, but somehow reach solid ground again safely in the end. A worldwide unique artistic show act, which will reach dangerously close to the hall ceiling here and there. Absolute thrills are guaranteed!
Old acquaintances are the best airtrack acrobats of Denmark, who are not for the first time at the Feuerwerk der Turnkunst. But if you think you already know the performances of the "Faceoff x Crew", you are wrong. The Danes are known for choreographing always new spectacular air shows and painting inimitable and tempo-charged motion pictures in the air with their triple somersaults and multiple spins in rapid succession. The group, assembled especially for the Feuerwerk der Turnkunst, will almost certainly play their way into the hearts of the audience during the OPUS Tour 2020 like no other group.
That leaves Troupe Tufaev, who will perform a triple somersault on the double Russian bar, a flexible beam just 15 centimetres wide, in rows - an absolute feat that only the very best artists in the world can achieve. Definitely not an act for the faint-hearted.
"Anyone who wants to experience action comes to gymnastics" - you would think. And it is exactly the same! Because the fireworks of gymnastics will once again prove with the OPUS tour 2020 that gymnastics is more than floor and parallel bars. Gymnastics stands for fantastic body control, thrills and total excitement!
