It's been less than two years since FJØRT transcended the boundaries of their genre with their second album 'KONTAKT' and found countless listeners who would otherwise actually immediately listen away when hearing 'music like this'. Now the band announces their third album: 'COULEUR' is the next big exclamation mark in a band history that can only be described as extraordinary.
With absolute efficiency, Frank Schophaus (dr), David Frings (b, voc) and Chris Hell (g, voc) have written an album in less than a year that conveys more than ever the extremes the trio from Aachen has stood for since their formation in 2012. Fortunately, the breathtaking speed at which FJØRT run their band is never to the detriment of the quality of their work. "The music was too important. We had to keep going," the band wipes away doubts about a 'quick fix'.
Where other bands smooth more and more edges on their sound after a commercially successful album in order to repel fewer listeners, FJØRT have chosen the opposite path and filed themselves some new pointy teeth on 'COULEUR'. 'COULEUR' rushes and scrapes, coming off more untamed than its predecessor.
