Feydeau's masterpiece of Parisian boulevard theatre is already the third French comedy in a row, which invites you to visit the Kellertheater in a fast-paced dramaturgy: Mechanisms of jealousy, shameless lust and bourgeois status quo intertwine so perfectly among the actors that Monsieur Chandebise, general manager of a large insurance company, gets completely out of control along with his relatives and the staff.
A pair of suspenders is to blame for everything, which the landlord has forgotten in the ambiguous hotel "Zur Zärtlichen Miezekatze". When his wife Raymonde finds out about it, she knows immediately: Her husband is cheating on her! And to catch him in the act, she and her friend Lucienne spin an intrigue that eventually brings the whole company, including Lucienne's trigger-happy husband and an Englishman gone wild, together in the aforementioned establishment. As a result of Chandebise's double working there and the surprising mechanics of an intensely used revolving bed, hopeless confusion inevitably takes its course.
