B.Dance (Taiwan) / German premiere

The Ghost Festival is one of the most beautiful and popular Buddhist ceremonies in Taiwan. Lanterns floating on the water are said to bring good luck, praise the gods and keep away bad luck. As a child, Po-Cheng Tsai was taken to the festival by his father, writing his wishes on the lanterns to watch them float down the river. Floating Flowers is inspired by these images and at the same time a choreographic homage to his father. The dancers of B.Dance combine traditional Asian movement arts and martial arts with contemporary dance to create a soulful, theatrical performance. Dressed in puffy muslin, they actually appear like lanterns gently floating across the water - a poetic, positive and always humorous image. Tsai works with various internationally renowned companies such as Introdans, Tanz Luzerner Theater, Gauthier Dance, Cloud Gate 2, Tanzcompagnie Konzert Theater Bern. The trade magazine tanz voted him Young Choreographer of the Year 2018.
