Florence Foster Jenkins, the worst singer of all time, was celebrated for not being able to sing. An icon of talentlessness, an involuntary comedienne who rocked her audiences thanks to a tragic misunderstanding: she heard herself singing goddess-like while the audience heard dwarf-shaking shrieks. This difference helped her achieve cult status. Her unswerving belief in herself makes her forever the patron saint of all superstar casting candidates.
Look forward to a feast of off-key notes, of breakaway coloratura with the superb musician and performer Sabine Fischmann, who will sing brilliantly wrong and ravishingly awful in the foolhardy pursuit of high Ds and Fs. Her small court, consisting of Thorsten Larbig (grand piano) and Birgitta Linde (public relations) looks after the horror and accompanies it with enthusiastic applause until the crash.
