At Flux, exceptional musicians from the Aschaffenburg area mix jazzy improvisation and joy of playing with sounds from R&B, rock/pop and world music. Paul Gehrig's Hammond organ is at the heart of the pieces, which are all his own; it plays a major role in shaping the project's characteristic retro sound. The musicians:
Paul Gehrig (hammond, ep, p): A big grin, a tousled mane and a pair of suspenders - that's Paul Gehrig. A set of instruments that makes many a music shop green with envy - that's his home. Paul Gehrig lives for analogue, cult and natural instruments.
Claus Heßler (dr): In the drummer scene, Claus Heßler is a fixture at festivals between Mexico and South Korea with an international following. With Flux he demonstrates his amazing technical skills and wide stylistic range.
Thomas Langer (git): The guitarist manages the balancing act between the Beatles and Pat Metheny with bravura - that is his trademark. Awards as cultural prize winner, various CD releases as well as the collaboration with Barbara Dennerlein stand for his inspired guitar playing. In Project Flux he audibly enjoys the freedoms in the "Hammond sound cloud".
