The Kiev Chamber Choir "Sophia" is conducting its 8th tour of European countries under the name "Striving for Light". Under the artistic direction of Oleksiy Shamrytskyi, the Sofia Chamber Choir has gained widespread recognition for its innovative programming, virtuoso singing and masterful command of a repertoire that spans the period from the Renaissance to modern times. The Sofia Chamber Choir is an ambassador of Ukrainian culture in Europe and is widely represented at choral festivals and competitions such as the Beethovenfest in Bonn. We were inspired to create this program by the text of Omar Khayyam: "Strive for light, that is the realm of the knower. Listen to music, it is the psalm of the prophets." Not only Ukrainian music is widely represented in the program, but also modern music from America, Holland and Hungary. The duration of the program is 60 minutes.
