To mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, visitors can expect to see prints and autographs from five centuries of church and cultural history. In addition to Martin Luther's Wartburg translation of 1522 in the original, these include other first prints and autographs from the Reformation period from Martin Luther to Jean Calvin. To see and experience are: - the impressive story of how the Bible became the leading medium in book history - from Gutenberg to the Bible app "Luther 2017", - controversial topics such as Luther's writings on the Jews and the instrumentalization of Martin Luther in Reformation anniversaries through the centuries, - language creations of the Luther Bible that give a sense of the effectiveness of the Reformation to this day. Luther in private In 1521, Luther traveled from Worms to Wartburg Castle; The Bibelhaus shows his letters from Frankfurt and the stable note about Luther's horses on the "Furierzettel" of the Marienstift Lich - rare autograph testimonies from the "Lutherweg1521". Pirated copy as in Luther's time .Guests can print a pirated copy in the typeface of Luther's first edition of the New Testament German on a Gutenberg press, or fold and staple a "small Biblia" from Luther's 1531 Psalter. Both are lovely souvenirs to take home (please inquire with a group registration).
