The Frankfurter Bachkonzerte e.V. celebrates its 60th anniversary in the 2021/22 season. For the start of the season we are looking forward to the Berlin Baroque Soloists, whose concert had to be cancelled last season due to corona. As soloists we welcome the young Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva as well as the renowned and award-winning Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter.
Even almost three centuries after its composition, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater" has lost none of its impressive impact. Already the beginning of the work with the painful friction of the two singing voices gives you goose bumps - especially when such outstanding singers as Julia Lezhneva and the mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter take over the vocal parts. Together with the Berlin Baroque Soloists, the two span the arc from Pergolesi's masterpiece to no less moving arias and duets from operas by Handel and Vivaldi.
