For a long time, the plan was to hold the book fair again in this difficult year with the help of a strict hygiene concept. But there won't be the usual indoor exhibition in 2020 - but there will be plenty of live and digital offerings. The highlight of this year's digital book fair is BOOKFEST digital - the Frankfurt Book Fair's big international cultural festival on 17 October 2020, where you can experience the biggest virtual cultural show of the year all day long.
But there is much more to experience - from events on the ARD Book Fair Stage in the Festhalle, readings, cosplay events or writing workshops. In detail, there are these offers, among others:
Frankfurt Cosplay
For many years now, it has been impossible to imagine the Frankfurt Book Fair's supporting programme without the colourful hustle and bustle surrounding cosplay & comics. Due to the pandemic, the joint admiration of costumes and the exchange of the fan community on site is cancelled. That's why the Frankfurt Book Fair, together with Animexx e.V., CosDay e.V. and wie.mai.kai e.V., has launched a new project: The online event Frankfurt Cosplay will take place from 17-18 October 2020 as a livestream on Twitch - with panels, workshops, international exchange and much more about cosplay, comics
