At the Frankfurt City Triathlon, numerous athletes will go to the start again this year at the Olympic distance at the Langener Waldsee. After the swim it goes then on the wheel. The bike course stretches from the Langener Waldsee to Frankfurt and leads through the city center of Frankfurt over two laps. After 43 km it ends at the Hauptwache, where the Triathlon Fair and the Street Food Festival will take place from Friday (04.08.). Both are open to visitors on Sunday from 9 am.

Continue to the running course on the Zeil. The Olympic triathlon is suitable for the professional triathlete as well as for the ambitious amateur athlete.

Naturally, this sporting event also brings some road closures with it. You can find more info below.

A total of about 2500 athletes are expected to start on the middle, Olympic, sprint or everyman distance on this day. And each of these participants in the Frankfurt City Triathlon is looking forward to your support. So come in large numbers to the Hauptwache or another location along the route and cheer on the athletes for all they're worth!

We keep our fingers firmly crossed for all participants!

Traffic information

Trams and buses: Detour and disruptions

In the west of Frankfurt and in the city center, numerous roads will be closed along the competition route. The streetcar lines 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 and the bus lines 33, 37, 51, 52, 54, 59, 61, X61, X77, 78 and 84 drive detours, operate only on partial routes or start their operation later.

All information on timetables and detour is available on the RMV service phone at 069/2424-8024 daily around the clock, on the Internet at rmv-frankfurt.de and of course in the app RMVGo.

Changes and alternatives at a glance

Due to the closures for Triathlon and summer construction sites, some routes will take a little longer than usual, but there are alternatives in Frankfurt's dense local transport network: In addition to the streetcar lines running on partial routes, the S-Bahns in Frankfurt's west offer travel options to the city center at the Niederrad, Griesheim, Nied and Höchst stations.

In the city center, the streetcars cannot use the Altstadt route. As an alternative, the S-Bahn lines between Hauptbahnhof and Konstablerwache are recommended here. The subway lines U1 to U3 and U6 to U8 are on schedule.

Changes in the trams
- The streetcar line 10 is diverted from Fechenheim coming from Konstablerwache via the zoo to Ernst-May-Platz, to the main station and further to Ginnheim it does not come. As a replacement, line 16 will be increased to a 15-minute frequency between Hauptbahnhof and Ginnheim.
- Line 11 will only run between Höchst Zuckschwerdtstraße and Hauptbahnhof (south side) and between Fechenheim Schießhüttenstraße and Lokalbahnhof.
- Line 12 will shuttle in the west between Schwanheim Rheinlandstraße and Willy-Brandt-Platz. In the east, it is diverted from Hugo-Junkers-Strasse via Konstablerwache to the zoo.
- Line 14 runs between Mönchhofstrasse and Hauptbahnhof (south side), although it cannot pass through Kleyerstrasse.
- Line 15 runs between Niederrad Haardtwaldplatz and Festhalle/Messe.
- Line 16 runs on the partial routes between Ginnheim and Hauptbahnhof (south side) and from Offenbach city limits via Südbahnhof to Neu-Isenburg as a replacement for Line 17.
- The streetcar line 17 runs only between Rebstockbad and Hauptbahnhof (south side).

- The line 33 starts its operation only shortly after 1 pm.
- Line 37 will be suspended from 5:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
