AQUADROME: This will be a water spectacle that has washed. For the 06. and 07. August comes installation artist Martin Markeli directly from the Viennese museum quarter to the Frankfurt sport and art casino with a port full of self-built boats in the tow, which want to be brought to life remote-controlled. So a unique opportunity to hang out with fast ships & hovercrafts on a challenging course possible pursuers, navigate, coordinate, always stay pretty in the basin and just do not sink. Zigzagging piourettes and circling the island world -sculptures built by famous artists ... a regatta for big and small captains. COME WITH YOUR BOATS - kit or own design, everything is welcome.
ARGOBAY is derived from the Argonauts (Greek. Mythology) and their fast ship, the Argo ... and yes, also reminiscent of the artcargobay (art from the trunk to the LÜFTEN festival 10 years ago, a small tribute). The ARGOBAY is the new beach section of the Frankfurt Sport and Art Casino
With the first ARGOBAY, a section of the extinguishing pond of the Frankfurt Jahrhunderthalle will be transformed into an exhibition space to present sculptures of well-known artists reflected on and in the water: THE SHIPPING OF ART as a socio-cultural happening. Everyone with a maritime heart is invited to take advantage of THE opportunity for a model boat regatta or to finally launch their own luxury liner, recycled sloop or soul seller. Whether kit or self-design, whether nutshell or plastic boat, provided seaworthy, everything is welcome ... a few models will also be available for rent.
PARTICIPATION:
All nautical objects should be able to be navigated back to the pool edge by remote control (or tether), and the keel depth/depth of floating objects should not exceed 40 cm.
