It's a cruel story with fantastic music. What happens when you turn it into a remake with an international cast of dancers? From European breakdance champion to stage performer extraordinaire -dancers delve into a mix of musical theatre, R'n'B by Danny Saucedo, Tchaikovsky classical music, electronic dance music and a pop song by Swedish singer Anna Ternheim. Star Swedish choreographer Fredrik Rydman, former Bounce member and choreographer of the international stage success Swan Lake Reloaded, brings The Nutcracker reinterpreted to the stage. THE NUTCRACKER RELOADED is a street dance version of the classical ballet and brings young and old audiences together - with Tchaikovsky's masterpieces and new songs. THE NUTCRACKER RELOADED will celebrate its German premiere on January 18, 2017 at the Deutsches Theater in Munich. From January 2018, the new dance sensation from Sweden will go on tour and will then be seen for the first time in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Vienna and Frankfurt. Rydman's new production brings us a handsome prince, the Nutcracker as an American R'n'B singer, dirty rats, spoiled candy figures as bored bloggers with Instagram fame, and a criminal organ trafficker in a tuxedo into whose wing little Clara falls. Both classic and modern villains and heroes play a role: Dracula, Super Mario, and Darth Vader make their special appearances! Little girl Clara is alone and on her own - living in a garbage dump while her parents go begging on the streets of a far-flung rich country. Hoping to find her parents again, Clara falls in with a well-dressed man who, contrary to appearances, is an organ trafficker - on the prowl for a young, healthy heart to sell on the black market to a rich, sick woman with a rare blood type. The Nutcracker, the Prince, is broken and has lost his former luster. Throughout the play, there is a narrator who informs us of everything we need to know intentionally (or unintentionally) about the show. Breakdance, hip hop, and ballet mingle with stunning visual effects and traits from Tchaikovsky's most beloved parts of the score to create a madcap story that is frighteningly similar to our reality today. THE NUTCRACKER RELOADED is a family dance spectacle for all ages that is playful, innovative, contemporary and energetic. The dazzling stage production is enhanced by a video design with 3-D projections. With plenty of humor and absurd situations, it never ceases to surprise, guaranteeing laughs and touching the audience as if on a fast-paced roller coaster ride. The classical Tchaikovsky parts were performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Artists such as Danny Saucedo, Anna Ternheim, Fredrik Wentzel and even Mario Perez Amigo also created original songs for THE NUTCRACKER RELOADED.
