A Frankfurt institution: The Verlag der Autoren celebrates 50 years of existence. And no publishing house is built like this one. Because the Verlag der Autoren belongs to those who write and work for it. It publishes theatre, radio plays, screenplays, prose and choreography. A very special book is being published to mark the anniversary: the editors Marion Victor and Wolfgang Schopf have delved into the publishing house's treasury and document the history and present of the Verlag der Autoren with facsimiles, quotations, clippings and photos. And with them, Germany's political as well as aesthetic debates and changes.
For the book's premiere, authors from all publishing sectors present finds from the rich repertoire. Wim Wenders, who has been with the company since the early years, will give a speech. Michael Quast, publisher, director and actor, will lead through the evening.
