If you appreciate anthemic wave-beat, crystal-clear synth-pop and a truly heartfelt, oh what, simply magical vocal between raspy longing and furious barking, you've come to the right place. In the intro cover story on the occasion of their latest album, Daniel Koch describes Herring as a DNA mix of the genes of Frank Sinatra, an opera diva, Dave Gahan and a hooligan kidnapped from the mosh pit of an Oi! concert. There's no better way to put it. Future Islands draw great pop music from personal lows and failed lives (and relationships) like perhaps no other band at the moment.
