Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Off to a new symphonic universe! The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen recently gave us an impressive and insightful Brahms cycle, offering glimpses into their deep understanding of Brahms' symphonies. Now the Bremen orchestra is embarking on a new Rheingau orchestral cycle and taking on Robert Schumann for us. Schumann's symphonies and his concertante works will be the focus of the next two festival years - and the very opening of this cycle has it all: no other symphonic work by the Romantic composer is as energetic, as majestic and downright euphoric as his "Rhenish". With an alert appetite for rediscovery and reassessment, the Bremen orchestra, together with their principal conductor Paavo Järvi, embark on Schumann's symphonic oeuvre.
