15 Year Anniversary - European Spring & Summer Shows 2017 - For the band's 15th anniversary, God Is An Astronaut from the presumably beautiful Glen of the Donws in Ireland grace us again after a five year absence. They continue to operate in those spheres that mark the transition from post-rock to NuGaze. Nowadays, after the new releases of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Ride, you can also say Shoegaze again. Rarely do you hear such majestically sublime pieces, which, similar to the approach of Godspeed You Black Emperor or Mogwai, are able to add new facets to the canon of rules of post-rock at any time. Now also with vocals by the way! And still with layered and piled up walls of keyboards, which Ultravox would have liked to use, too, if the means of production had been up to scratch at the time. Sometimes polyrhythmic, sometimes straight rocking, often echoing and always with an eye on the shoes. Wonderful listening music, that.
