When singer and composer Oliver Augst hits the stage, you can't really be sure what exactly is going to happen. But no matter what it will be, it is always on a high level. An artist with a sense of humour, also very musical and equally versatile. Augst studied visual communication at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach and popular music / performance at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Hamburg - an interesting balancing act that runs through his entire musical output. But because Oliver Augst is someone who knows what he is doing, he also receives a lot of praise for his work and is awarded scholarships and grants. He was awarded a studio scholarship by the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm from 1991-93 and a DAAD scholarship for free art in Vienna in 1994. He creates joint works with renowned artists such as Blixa Bargeld or the Japanese artist On Kawara, which are presented internationally. He finds important companions in his way of thinking and realizing projects in his colleagues Christoph Korn and Marcel Daemgen. With the latter, Augst has been working since 1998 on - as he himself says - "radical forms of theatre, experimental music and entertainment at the highest level" under the name "textXTND". For their work on the listening theatre series ON AIR they have just been awarded the Karfunkel 2018 by the city of Frankfurt.
There is enough "material" to meet host Gregor Praml and also to draw parallels, for example, to his theatre work as a stage composer. We may also be curious about the common musical part. Note! The event may be live video streamed! Text source and more information about this event: http://www.mousonturm.de/web/de/veranstaltung/lokal-listener-oliver-augst
