Yes, it's a double bass, a single one. But it sounds like it's several at once. The solo program of Frankfurt musician and composer Gregor Praml turns the double bass into a soloist. In doing so, he leaves the classical role of accompanist and turns his instrument into an orchestra. This polyphony is created through the use of a loop station and the variety of sound through countless effect devices, with which the studied jazz bassist can multiply his instrument live and completely change its sound.
