The city of Groß-Gerau also invites year after year on the second weekend of Advent to the Christmas market. As in the past two years, the already beautiful market has been expanded by three attractions: a creative market in the historic town hall (7./8. December 2019), an "Advent Café" of the Groß-Gerau countrywomen and a flea market for private sellers on the second Sunday of Advent (December 8).
The official opening of the Christmas market will take place on the Sandböhlplatz on Friday, 6. December, at 5 p.m.
Thereafter, for three days around the fir tree on the Sandböhlplatz will be almost 40 booths, where associations, traders and local schools and friends from the European twin cities offer homemade and handicrafts as well as food and drinks. In addition, there will be a children's carousel on which the youngest can happily do their rounds.
