The world's darts elite is coming to Frankfurt for the GUDE® DARTS OPEN! On 20 April 2019, the superstars of darts will challenge 16-time world champion Phil "The Power" Taylor at the GUDE® DARTS OPEN FRANKFURT. Beside Taylor 5 times World Champion Raymond "Barney" van Barneveld, Mensur Suljović, Simon Whitlock, Nico Kurz, Michael Unterbuchner and Sascha Stein will stand at the oche in the Fraport Arena. The field of participants will be completed by a wildcard winner. Thanks to big video walls a good view on the matches is guaranteed!
Particularly the duels of the two multiple World Champions Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld electrified the crowds in the past. In the Fraport Arena it can come at the earliest in the semi-finals to this duel. The opponents of "Barney" have to be prepared for a vocal support of the "Barney Army" in Frankfurt: The Dutchman will celebrate his 52nd birthday on stage at the GUDE® DARTS OPEN FRANKFURT.
The match will be played in two groups. The mode is 501, who is fastest at 0 points has won a leg. However, only if double-out is checked out. The first player to win a certain number of legs wins the match. The group matches are played in best-of-five. The semi-finals best-of-seven, the final best-of-nine.
An exciting supporting programme is provided as well. The Master of Ceremonies Gordon "Mr. Darts" Shumway will provide the atmosphere in the hall. Caller is the world famous John Gwynne, who commentated all 16 World Championship titles of Phil Taylor for BBC Radio or Sky Sports. Among them of course the unforgettable final of 2007 between Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld, which Barney won in Sudden Death Leg.
DJ Sascha will provide the musical support.
